ELP3 is the catalytic subunit of the histone acetyltransferase elongator complex, which contributes to transcript elongation and also regulates the maturation of projection neurons (Creppe et al., 2009 [PubMed 19185337]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2009] Database links: Entrez Gene: 55140 Human Entrez Gene: 74195 Mouse SwissProt: Q9H9T3 Human SwissProt: Q9CZX0 Mouse RNA聚合酶II延伸復合體的催化tRNA乙酰轉移酶亞基，是RNA聚合酶II（Pol II）全酶的組成部分，參與轉錄伸長。多個tRNA修飾需要拉伸配合物，包括mcm5U（5-甲氧基羰基甲基尿苷）、mcm5s2U（5-甲氧基羰基甲基-2-硫脲定）和ncm5U（5-氨基甲酰甲基尿苷）。在拉長復合物中，通過調節tRNAs中34位的擺動堿基中羧甲基尿苷的形成，充當tRNA尿苷（34）乙酰轉移酶。也可以通過介導目標蛋白質的乙酰化而作為蛋白質賴氨酸乙酰轉移酶。然而，這種活性在體內尚不清楚，最近的證據表明ELP3主要作為tRNA乙酰轉移酶。還能參與神經發生，通過依賴于α-微管蛋白乙酰化的過程調節投射神經元在大腦皮層中的遷移和分支，也是發育中的大腦皮層中GJA1乙酰化所必需的。 |
